Privacy notice

Who is responsible

Your Golf Planner is the data controller for the information described here. For any privacy request, email privacy@yourgolfplanner.app.

What we collect

  • Account details — your email address, password (stored hashed by our authentication provider) and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile photo.
  • Golf profile — optional display name, phone number, home club, handicap and preferred tees.
  • Events you organise or join — course, dates, tee times, groups, invitations, RSVPs and scores.
  • Golfers you add — names and any contact details you choose to store for people you play with.
  • Consent records — when you agreed to these terms and whether you opted in to product emails.

Why we use it (and our legal basis)

  • To run your account and the events you organise or are invited to — performance of our contract with you.
  • To send emails you have to receive to use the app, such as invitations you triggered and password resets — performance of our contract.
  • To send optional product news and tips — consent, given by ticking the marketing box. You can withdraw it at any time in your profile or via the unsubscribe link.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent abuse — our legitimate interests.

We do not sell your data, we do not use it to build advertising profiles, and we do not run advertising or analytics cookies. The only browser storage we use is what is strictly necessary to keep you signed in.

Who can see your data

People you invite to an event can see the event details, the player list and published results. Organisers of events you join can see your golf profile. Nobody else can read your data.

We use service providers to host the app and its database and to deliver email. They process data on our instructions only. Hosting and data storage are in the EU/UK or under equivalent safeguards for any transfer outside it.

Adding other golfers

When you add someone to your golfers list or invite them to an event, you are sharing their details with us. Please only add people who would expect to hear from you about golf, and share only what is needed to organise it.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account is open. Delete your account and we remove your profile, your golfers list and the events you own, other than anything we must keep for legal reasons. Consent records are kept as proof of consent.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent. You can edit your profile and delete your account in the app, or email privacy@yourgolfplanner.app and we will respond within one month. You can also complain to your local data protection authority — in the UK, the ICO.

Children

Your Golf Planner is not intended for children under 16.
